Ethical, mature and energetic individual to work with traumatized or abused children and their mothers in the setting of a domestic violence crisis shelter. Candidate should have knowledge in areas of child development, non-violent conflict resolution, empowerment parenting techniques, crisis intervention, and the effects of domestic violence upon children. Duties include therapeutic group and individual work with children; parenting workshops with women; training and supervising volunteers while providing programmatic structure; participation in therapeutic gardening program; intakes and case management notes; and collaboration with other staff in treatment planning. Requirements include ability to transport clients and their belongings as well as sort and carry heavy donations. Coordinator uses own car and must be fully insured. Submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and have recent TB test.
