Mid Level Java / Web Developer - Ft. Belvoir, VA

Job Description:
Develop Java applications in both Windows and Mac desktop environments for deployment to UNIX servers on the Internet, NIPRNET and SIPRNET. Candidate will develop web portal and database-enabled Java applications, participating in design, development and implementation for new, migrating, and operational applications Requires good communication and presentation skills, to work with decision makers to demonstrate mockups/prototypes. An understanding of web content management, process work flows, portals and other web based user and data management systems is a plus. Integration of commercial and open source products. Support for high volume, high-visibility web sites and applications, with public sites serving over 5 million pages/week, and internal sites serving a high-level DoD audience. Candidates should be innovative, creative, flexible. Desire and motivation to learn new Java standards based technologies including Hibernut, Struts, Tapestry, AJAX, and Java Script Support Web page design and development. Develop skills in web enabling back end databases. Explore web services and emerging technologies. Develop prototyping and support analysis of commerical products.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science in computer related field with five years of overall IT professional experience (preferably working with web technologies and web development). OR Nine years of overall IT experience of which at least 2 years of hands on experience with Java/J2EE. US citizenship required as candidate must undergo Federal Government background investigation to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance.
