Would you like to work in an exciting, fast paced environment for the premier energy corporation in Washington? Our client is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Structure Analyst with financial experience in the energy industry.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Seek out and lead any structured deals that require special model, pricing and or process than the routine deal flow process currently used to close deals.
• Support pricing and development of retail energy products by researching current market costs for supply and risk management tools and improve pricing.
• Analyze the product tariffs of potential new markets to evaluate the operational feasibility of serving the market, determine potential risks and recommend appropriate pricing factors.
• Act as a liaison between operations and marketing to provide the required modeling and quantitative support to facilitate new product development, respond to RFPs, and provide support to identify new product offerings.
• Work with quantitative analysts to maintain and utilize a retail pricing model that interacts with wholesale curve and retail load projections for structured products and new products that do not fit into the current production processes. Work to completely understand current models and strive to improve upon them.
• Support Manager, Product Supply & Trading in analyzing, pricing and responding to government RFPs
• Monitor current market conditions to initiate and optimize wholesale transactions and strategies to maximize margins.
• Comply with all company manuals and policies.
Required Skills
MUST HAVE OPERATIONAL GAS EXPERIENCE AND/OR REAL EXPERIENCE IN OPERATIONS SIDE OF ENERGY INDUSTRY
• Demonstrated experience structuring complex natural gas or energy-related products
• Demonstrated experience analyzing utility tariffs and/or conducting new market entry research
• Demonstrated ability to be creative and work independently in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Must be able to handle daily deadlines and deal-closing related uncertainties
• Strong analytical ability
• May have worked close to the trading environment in order to work with traders on portfolios.
• Strong MS Excel and Word skills
