Growing Chicago Branding/Consulting Agency seeks Account Director and/or Account Managers (multiple openings) to manage and nurture company- client relationships. Positions directly support partners to determine and develop overall client objectives and manage project outcomes. Clients include Fortune 500 and blue chip clients. Outstanding creative garners industry awards.
Background:
Number of years of experience is open depending on background of candidate. Ideal candidate is a hybrid, who understands print, design and production and can be part of team to develop and execute variety of print materials. Ideal candidate understands design, art direction and packaging. Candidate can come from account management role in design firm or creative services department. Must have very strong client relationship skills and ability to shepherd projects from start to finish. Will also consider designers with impeccable client management skills.
Account Manager has strong project management and tactical/ implementation skills. Account Director has more in-depth strategic account management experience and higher-level contributions working with C level executives.
Activities:
Support large, program-based relationships with client. Represent clients’ key day-to-day contacts. Significant interpersonal skills. Assist partners and strategists in shaping client beliefs and lead strategic discussions within company teams. Work under creative partners with internal teams of 10- 20 staff, including designers, strategists, account staff, outside vendors and freelancers. Assignments range from 2 weeks to 3-6 months. Work on 3-4 projects at a time.
Plan meetings from project inception. Write Proposals. Ensure proper documentation of contract terms and conditions, budget acceptance, etc. Plan and coordinate internal and external resources and budgets. Work with partners in budget negotiations. Handle all billing and receivable discussions and achieve resolutions. Keep partners informed of status of all outstanding issues.
Deliverables include: heavy print and collateral, ads, annual reports, retail design and packaging, branding, identity, logos and marks. No broadcast or direct mail. Printed documents primarily used for investor and internal communications.
Maintain and grow project revenue from existing accounts. Identify new business opportunities and assist in business-development initiatives. Produce final creative briefs for review by project team and client. Ensure that deliverables coincide with project scope, plan, budget, goals, and objectives. Ensure that proper communication is maintained within project team.
Maintain knowledge of client industries and familiarity with competitive landscape. Mentor/supervise account managers and coordinators. Account director may perform duties of account manager/coordinator.
